MISS. BINTOU MAÏMOUNATOU FOFANA...
Originally from Bamkao Mali, Miss. Fofana is a multifaceted individual with diverse passions and interdisciplinary interests. Graduating from Allegheny College in Meadville Pennsylvania, in May 2024, she earned a B.A. in International Studies with a specialized focus on West Africa. Additionally, she pursued double minors in French and Political Science, complemented by a concentration in Law and Policy with a specialized foucs on Global Affairs. This website serves as a platform dedicated not only to showcasing Miss Fofana's researches but also to highlighting her commitment to social justice and political science. It provides insight into her personal projects, reflecting her ethos that to live and not embrace who we are is to die without living.

Ongoing project- This study explores the profound transformation of pre-colonial West Africa due to European presence, analyzing its enduring influence on the region's contemporary landscape, with a specific emphasis on the transition from nonmaterial to material culture and its implications for political and economic institutions. Additionally, it evaluates the impact of European influence on nonmaterial culture and institutions, offering insights crucial for understanding the current societal landscape.

VOTE EVERYWHERE AMBASSADOR / REDISTRICTING FELLOW
Spring 2021 to Spring 2024- Through the Andrew Goodman Foundation chapter at Allegheny College, Miss.Fofana and her colleagues were working on voting rights, voter registration, along with working with the local Meadville NAACP chapter. In addition to working with the Campus Vote Project to fight against gerrymandering and advocate for fair drawing of district lines

Fall 2022 to Spring 2024- Through Allegheny College, Miss.Fofana advised students in the law and policy program. With her colleagues she organized panels, presentations and guest speakers to disucss social and political issues.

Fall 2020 to Spring 2024- Through Allegheny College, Miss.Fofana and her colleagues are on a mission to empower women worldwide. In addition to working with the Campus Vote Project to involve college students and communities in the redistricting process, advocating for fairness, transparency, and student representation.
